Meet the Team
Pauline Swaby Wallace –
Manager and Caribbean Case Worker
Pauline has worked at the very heart of BEMSCA for over 28 years. She manages the staff and volunteers and works tirelessly to ensure they and our members needs are heard and understood when dealing with a broad range of adult care services and agencies. She is very well respected within Bath and North East Somerset and represents the Black and Ethnic community on local health and welfare forums.
Meenu Munro –
Asian Case Worker
Meenu joined BEMSCA in 2003 to support the members who came from the Asian sub-continent. She supports with translation, completing forms, making phone calls, reviewing documents and helping with personal issues including housing, benefits, pensions and health needs.
Meenu has been a pivotal link, in joining up health agencies with BEMSCA.
In addition to the one-to-one support of members, she co-ordinates social activities and trips for members.
Yi-Ping Wu Grant –
Chinese Case Worker
Ping joined BEMSCA in 2008. She supports our small but growing membership from the Chinese community. She works with families who may not have English as their first language, acting as translator and advocate. She attends meetings, doctors and hospital appointments, helps with asylum and citizenship applications, housing issues and other social support.
In addition to her support role with members, Ping also manages BEMSCA social media, website and IT needs for staff and volunteers.
Paul –
BEMSCA Office Administrator
Paul had been a volunteer at BEMSCA for many years and continues to have a dual role within the organisation. Paul is now the BEMSCA office Admin and still continues to volunteer as a finance assistant.
Michael Auton –
Fundraising and Marketing Co-ordinator
Michael joined the BEMSCA team in 2015 and has provided marketing and fundraising support for the charity. He has over 30 years fundraising, running his own consultancy since 2014.
He has worked closely with Pauline and her team to explore funding opportunities, create marketing materials, and secured grants to support ongoing work and launch new initiatives including the food hub, First Step Mental Health services, and a COVID-19 awareness project targeting ethnic minority communities in BANES.
Toni Swaby –
COMF Project Manager
Toni Swaby is project co-ordinator for the COVID-19 Contain Outbreak Management Fund (COMF) project.
Ryan Thomas –
Transport escort / BEMSCA corporate catering team
Ryan has dual roles within BEMSCA, not only is she the bus escort for members, to ensure they get to and from BEMSCA safely it also means that they have confidence in attending the service.
Ryan is also part of the corporate catering team and provides
creative meals and dishes, inspired by her extensive experience within catering. She also works along with the project workers in home visits.
Sonia Swaby –
BEMSCA Catering Team
Sonia is part of our BEMSCA catering team and provides freshly cooked meals to our members, at the weekly day care service and on request to those unable to attend. Sonia uses fresh ingredients from the Fareshare food deliveries and is inspired by the delivered foods to create delicious and fresh dishes from around the world.
Sandra Graham –
Housekeeping Team
Sandra is a central part of BEMSCA's housekeeping team, who manages the day to day house keeping tasks at a high level of cleanliness.
